Secret number one says that positive attitude and the unrelenting will to win despite the obstacles or resistance is what distinguishes high-performing leaders from the rest of the race.
Secret number two says that most of our success is controlled by our community and thus we must look at our circle of 5 and upgrade it. Surround yourself with growth friends and not just maintenance friends.
You reach success when you work on yourself, your habits, and your lifestyle to walk on the path to achieve greater heights. The habits that we form and follow every day have great impact on our mind and body. Successful people intentionally form healthy habits and take out time to do them every single day. The character of a successful person is known by his reputation and good habits. The key to make the activities a habit is to do it consistently and you’ll see the results. Let’s talk about a few habits that sound easy but need commitment and dedication to form.
Habit Number One: Journaling
Many successful people claim that journaling helps them in personal growth and development. When you do it first thing in the morning, it gets you into a positive mindset and shifts your attention very quickly towards the things you are grateful for. It’s a great way to start the day and it takes your inner core to a creative and productive place. Most of us do not have a lot of time in the morning to read a book, the best way to listen to some inspirational and enlightening material is to listen to some positive podcast while you go about starting your day, getting ready for gym or office.
Habit Number Two: Meditation
Meditation helps you calm your mind and find the energy from within to stay enthusiastic throughout the day. If you have already created a mental picture of a person sitting in the mountains or on a rock in the middle of an ocean, with closed eyes and hands on the lap, let’s wipe it away. Meditation doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go some faraway place and be isolated. It simply means taking a few minutes every morning to be silent and quiet and free from any activity. Various studies have proved that meditation drastically improves our productivity level, creativity, and communication skills. It refreshes your mind and rejuvenates you within minutes to charge the day head-on.
Habit Number Three: Eat Well & Drink Lots of Water
Most of us wake up, dress up, and head for the coffee machine or the nearest coffee shop for a quick cappuccino and a ham and cheese sandwich. Eat it while driving to work, keep it on your desk while you open your emails. Loading up on sugar and greasy food early in the morning makes us sluggish and low on energy. Instead, try to grab a smoothie with lots of vegetables in the morning and minus the caffeine and within the first week, you’ll see the difference. You’ll not experience any energy crashes or hunger pangs.
Another very important habit that you must form is to drink loads of water. Not just a glass or two but 3 to 5 liters to get the toxins out of the system and stay refreshed throughout the day. Ditch the sodas and other sugary liquids that your body surely does not need and instead drink plain water. Replace the unhealthy eating and drinking habits and become very intentional about what you are feeding your body. Remember, that a healthy mind stays in a healthy body.
Habit Number Four: Exercising
Exercising doesn’t have to be done just to look good or for weight loss, exercising releases energy and leaves a lasting good mood. Early morning exercising in any form such as walking, running, cycling, or hitting a gym, is the best way to start a day. Find whatever suits you more and follow it religiously. Forming a habit takes consistency and commitment.
Habit Number Five: Planning your Day
Coaches who interact with highly successful and high-performing leaders
always say that a day is either won or loss and you have the chance to set the intention for it early in the morning by planning. If you internalize this fact, you can become much more successful and a lot more mission-driven. Prioritize the things that are most important to you in a day and plan ahead to get the desired outcome. For example, you can write down any 3 things that you want to accomplish today to make things great and you’ll observe that the things for which you set the intention in the morning do happen.
Final Habit Number Six: Sleep
It is one of the lease admired habit by most people, however, studies have shown that sleep deprivation makes us feel tired and drains our energy. Minimum 6 to 8 hours of sleep is needed at night to welcome a new day with happiness. There are rare people who can function perfectly with much less sleep, but that is just a small percentage of population. In our routine life, we are so used to sleeping less and then going through the day, that we don’t even realize that our energy is sapping because of lack of enough sleep. If you make it a practice to sleep well and 7 to 8 hours every night, you’ll discover that your level of effectiveness has gone up dramatically.
Committing to these habits is hard but not impossible. We eat, drink, sleep, walk, and work every day of our lives, however, when we do these activities with complete mindfulness, it impacts our growth tremendously. Transform your mornings into amazing mornings by following these habits and you’ll experience the same amazement through the day.We will soon get back to you with our Secret number four!
